Roster Application Guidelines

To be listed on the Creative Aging Roster, teaching artists must apply and pass a panel review. Applications are evaluated by a panel of cross sector experts in the arts, aging, community cultural development and arts education fields. Read the criteria and follow the guidelines below to apply. We advise you to refer back to these guidelines as you complete the application. Applications are reviewed quarterly.

An ideal candidate possesses:

  • Professional experience as an artist;
  • Proven teaching experience in delivering sequential arts instruction;
  • The ability to create curricula for older adults;
  • Specialized training is a plus.

To Apply:

1. Roster Artist Profile

Complete the roster artist profile, which includes your contact information, a teaching artist bio, teaching experience, artistic disciplines, languages spoken, a section to attach application materials, and two professional references (Only include references familiar with your work as a teaching artist. Please do not send letters of recommendation. References will be contacted directly by EngAGE Utah.)

2. Teaching Artist Resume

Attach a Teaching Artist Resume that provides a summary of your skills, experience and education as both a practicing artist and art educator. Please include dates, descriptions and summary of positions when appropriate. If you have a separate Artist CV and Teaching Resume, please combine them into a single file.

Please note: Teaching Artist Resumes will be viewable to anyone searching the Roster.

Acceptable file types include .pdf, .txt, .doc, .docx, .odt, and .ods and the maximum file size is 10 MB.

3. Sample Curriculum

Attach a Sample Curriculum for an 8 – 10 session instructional residency for older adults (55+). Include:

  • title;
  • a brief description of the curriculum;
  • sequential learning goals and objectives;
  • a brief description of activities for each session, including what skills will be taught;
  • how you will promote social engagement;
  • a brief description of a culminating/sharing event.
